Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs at Somerset Progressive School in rural Taunton area. The role requires a minimum of two years’ SEND experience and a proactive approach to behaviour management.

Applicants with a Level 3 TA qualification will be advantageous; the successful candidate will work 1:1 or small groups, liaising with teachers, parents and carers to promote wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
• Commitment to supporting pupils with SEND.
• Level 3 TA qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support and mentor students with their learning in class, at home, and through outdoor activities
• Help prepare materials and support lessons, focusing on behaviour management
• Write daily reports on student progress and challenges
• Regularly communicate with parents and caregivers
