Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Esher is seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary SEN unit in Esher, supporting pupils with SLD and Autism. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt approaches, and work closely with teachers to promote independence and positive behaviour.

Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants Needed - Esher
Esher | Primary SEN Unit

Monday-Friday | Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

We're currently looking for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist primary SEN setting in Esher, supporting pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and associated needs, including Autism.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone confident supporting pupils with complex learning, communication and sensory needs, who is comfortable providing a high level of care and support throughout the school day.

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, long-term position
  • Support primary-aged pupils with SLD, Autism and associated needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support based on individual pupil needs
  • Support pupils with communication, sensory regulation and learning difficulties
  • Assist with personal care where required
  • Promote independence, engagement and positive behaviour
  • Adapt activities and communication approaches to meet individual needs
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team
  • Previous SEN experience is essential
  • Experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex learning difficulties
  • Comfortable supporting with personal care
  • Understanding of communication and sensory needs
  • Calm, patient, proactive and resilient approach
  • Strong ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Full-time availability

The setting provides specialist training around autism, sensory regulation, PDA, masking and supporting autistic learners, making this a great opportunity for an experienced SEN TA looking to further develop their knowledge.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
