Aspire People is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Hinckley. You will provide one-to-one and small group support for children with special educational needs, helping them access tailored learning activities and participate fully in the classroom.

Job Role: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School

Location: Hinckley (LE10)

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only

Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school team in Hinckley. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with a range of learning needs and be committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEN.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.
  • Help to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to monitor and assess student progress.
  • Support children with personal care needs when required (subject to individual requirements).
  • Promote positive behavior and emotional wellbeing in line with the school's ethos.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • A passion for supporting children with SEN and promoting inclusion.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (SEN experience is preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, caring, and flexible approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A good understanding of child development and learning strategies for children with additional needs.
  • A willingness to undertake further professional development and training.
  • An enhanced DBS check (to be undertaken before employment).
