Job description

Vision For Education is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a full-time basis conducting 1:1 support to a Year 1 student. The school requires an experienced Teaching Assistant who works well with children with Autism and additional needs to start as soon as possible. The school is based near the Sedgley area therefore being easily accessible from Dudley and Bilston areas.

  • Supporting a little boy with a diagnosis of ASD and associated communication and behavioural needs.
  • Use a child-centred approach to provide the best support for student's learning and development.
  • This Teaching Assistant role is a full-time, long-term role.

About you:

To be considered for the Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Have previous experience working with primary-aged children and students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Suitable qualifications to work with young people and support students with SEND, this is highly desirable.
  • Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
  • Be able to work as part of a team and be confident dealing with occasional behavioural challenges
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
