Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant (or Unqualified SEN TA) to support students with special educational needs in a Lancaster/Kirkby Lonsdale setting. The role involves one-to-one or small-group support, promoting an inclusive classroom and liaising with teachers, parents and external agencies.

Starting ASAP, you will work 8:30am to 15:30pm, with a daily rate of £90-£100. A DBS check, safeguarding compliance and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• A DBS check is required.
• Right to work in the UK must be demonstrated.
• Experience with SEN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to support holistic development.
• Monitor and track progress, giving feedback to staff.
• Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
• Utilise knowledge of the National Curriculum to assist learning.
