Job summary

Veritas Education seek a dedicated Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN provision in Lancaster. You will support the class teacher with engaging activities, work one-to-one and in small groups, and tailor support for children with diverse needs to help them access learning in a nurturing setting.

The role is term-time only, 8:30am–3:15pm, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start and ongoing CPD opportunities in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Has Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEN in school, nursery, or similar setting.
• Able to communicate effectively and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

Location: Lancaster
Hours: 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday

Veritas Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Lancaster that is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN provision immediately.

This rewarding role involves supporting the class teacher within a small class of pupils who require additional educational, social, and emotional support. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals in a nurturing and supportive environment.

The Role

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
• Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Providing tailored support to children with a range of special educational needs.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
• Assisting with the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities.
• Helping to create a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Has experience supporting children with SEN in a school, nursery, or similar setting.
• Is patient, caring, and adaptable in their approach.
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Is committed to supporting the educational and personal development of every child.
