Job summary

Monarch Education in Oldham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of learning needs during the 2026/27 academic year. The role is full-time, starting September 2026, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, at a dedicated SEN school.

You will work closely with teachers to provide one-to-one and small group support, foster inclusion and help students build confidence and independence. Experience in education or youth work is valued.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people in educational or care settings.
  • Patience, resilience and a proactive attitude.
  • Confidence working with students with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Committed to helping students achieve individual goals.
  • Qualifications or transferable experience are desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Have experience supporting children or young people in an educational, care, youth work or support setting
  • Demonstrate patience, resilience and a proactive attitude
  • Be confident working with students with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Be committed to helping students achieve their individual goals
  • Hold relevant qualifications or transferable experience (desirable but not essential)
