Walgrave Primary School in the village of Walgrave is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with a small team and on a 1:1 basis to meet daily pupil needs.

The role requires flexible communication with parents and external agencies, and a commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare within a nurturing environment.

  • Capable of building relationships with the pupils and be willing to be flexible to support their specific needs.
  • Willing to undergo specific training from outside agencies in order to support the children with specific areas of need.
  • Must be able to work in an adaptive way to ensure children are able to be part of everyday school life.

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant with a deep understanding of special educational needs. Join the ‘Place Where Brilliance Begins’, a vibrant, happy and nurturing school located in the village of Walgrave.

This is a rewarding role, working with inspiring pupils, in a close-knit team of talented and ambitious staff.

Responsible to: Headteacher, SENDCo

Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only. (8.45am - 3.15pm with half an hour lunch break)

Salary: Grade E salary point 4-5. (Salary to be pro rata based on full time equivalent salary £26,016 - £26,427

Contract: Named child

The right candidate needs to be passionate about achieving the best for the pupils and about making a positive difference. Your role will require you to work in a small team and 1:1, ensuring the daily needs of the pupil are met.
