Job summary

Teaching Personnel in High Wycombe is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for full-time term-time work. You will support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis, collaborating with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored support and IEPs.

The role requires experience with SEN, strong communication and teamwork, and a patient, adaptable approach. Hours are 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a daily pay rate of £92.63–£100 and DBS checks as part of safeguarding.

Qualifications

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our warm and supportive school community in High Wycombe.

About the Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting individual pupils or small groups with a range of learning needs, helping to remove barriers to learning and enabling every child to reach their full potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored support and create an inclusive, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Promote a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment
  • Monitor and record pupils’ progress, feeding back to staff and parents
  • Help manage behaviour and emotional regulation using positive interventions
About You:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow direction and also use initiative when required
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) desirable
