Job summary

Prospect House Primary Specialist School in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 1 SEN to support students with complex needs. You will provide 1:1 and small-group assistance, help implement learning plans, and work under teacher supervision in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The role is a fixed-term post for one academic year, 29 hours per week during term time plus 5 INSET days, with a starting salary of £18,232.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Qualified to level 2 or equivalent/higher.
  • Commitment to professional standards and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with children/young people with communication or complex learning difficulties is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Work with small groups of children under supervision and implement Individual Learning Plans.
  • Provide regular 1:1 support tailored to individual needs.
  • Keep records and report progress to the teacher.
  • Support discreet groups of pupils when the teacher is not present.
  • Promote equal access to learning and development.
  • Participate in training to develop learning strategies and progress.
  • Support performance management and professional development.
  • Clear spoken English is essential for the post.
