Job summary

Pear Tree High School in Cheadle Hulme is seeking Teaching Assistants Level 1 SEN to join a dedicated team. This grade 3, permanent post is full-time (35 hours/week, term time only plus 5 INSET days) with a pro-rata starting salary of £22,730 and a full-time equivalent of £26,427.

You will support students, work with teachers and specialists, and help implement Individual Learning Plans in a safe, inclusive environment. Commitment to safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of child development and learning.
• Level 2 qualification (or equivalent/higher) in numeracy and literacy.
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
• Committed to continuous learning and development.
• Experience with complex, severe, or profound learning difficulties is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support small groups and individual students with learning activities.
• Help implement ILPs and track progress.
• Build positive relationships and promote inclusion for all pupils.
• Assist with personal care and wellbeing needs where required.
• Provide feedback to teachers and help monitor student progress.
• Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.
