Job summary

Prospect House Primary Specialist School is seeking two Teaching Assistant Level 1 (SEN) to support students with complex needs. The roles are fixed-term until 31 August 2027 and permanent positions, 35 hours per week, during term time plus 5 INSET days. Starting salary £22,730; FTE £26,427 (Grade 3).

Roles begin after pre-employment checks. The successful candidates will have Level 2 or higher, good numeracy/literacy, and a collaborative approach to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience with or understanding of SEN needs is desirable.
• Commitment to professional standards and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work with small groups under teacher supervision and implement Individual Learning Plans.
• Provide regular 1:1 support tailored to individual needs.
• Give feedback on pupils’ progress to the class teacher and maintain records.
• Assist with supervision of discreet groups when the teacher is unavailable.
• Support equality and ensure all pupils have access to learning opportunities.
• Engage in training to develop learning strategies and support student progress.
• Contribute to performance management processes and ongoing professional development.
• Communicate in accurate spoken English as part of the role.
