Job summary

Farcet CofE (C) Primary School is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team and help ensure high-quality teaching and learning for all pupils across the school. The role is 10 hours per week over 38 weeks per year, with a temporary contract and pro rata pay.

Salary points 5-6 for FTE (£26,427–£26,847) with approx £5,972 pro rata; commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education is central to our ethos.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (or equivalent)
• NVQ Level 2 in supporting teaching and learning
• Experience of working with children or as a Teaching Assistant
• Principles and practices of high-quality teaching and learning
• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, parents/carers and the community
• High levels of adaptability and flexibility
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs of pupils and support their learning with detailed knowledge and skills
• Establish productive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model
• Support pupils consistently while recognising their individual needs
• Encourage pupils to interact and work cooperatively with others
• Organise and manage learning environments and resources
