Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a KS1 Nurture Hub in Stockton-on-Tees. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping with learning, communication and emotional regulation to boost confidence and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing and experienced with SEN, able to build strong pupil relationships and work closely with the class teacher. Commitment to safeguarding is essential.

• Experience with SEN settings or nurture provisions preferred.
• Ability to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups.

Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Stockton-on-Tees, working within our KS1 Nurture Hub.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and wants to make a real difference to their learning, confidence and wellbeing.

You will work closely with pupils in the KS1 Nurture Hub, providing tailored support to children who may need additional help with their learning, communication, emotional regulation and social development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping children develop their confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Supporting learning through engaging, differentiated activities
• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
• Supporting children to develop their social and emotional skills
• Creating a calm, safe and nurturing environment where every child can thrive

We are looking for someone who is:

• Patient, nurturing and compassionate
• Experienced in or passionate about working with children with SEN
• Confident supporting children with additional emotional and behavioural needs
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils
• Calm, consistent and positive in their approach

• Committed to helping every child reach their potential

Experience within a nurture provision, SEN setting or primary school would be highly desirable.
