Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Stratford-upon-Avon. This full-time role focuses on pupils with SEMH and complex needs, offering 1:1 and small-group support to help them access learning.

You will work closely with teachers and SEN staff to build confidence, independence and positive behaviours, contributing to a nurturing and safeguarding-focused environment.

• Consistent, reliable and committed to safeguarding.
• Experienced in SEN, SEMH, complex needs, behaviour support or a related setting (desirable but not essential).
• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, complex needs or challenging behaviour would be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Supporting children with SEMH and complex needs to engage positively with learning.
• Helping pupils develop their social, emotional and communication skills.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Supporting positive behaviour and helping children to regulate their emotions.
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
• Adapting activities and providing encouragement to meet individual needs.
• Promoting pupils’ independence, confidence and self-esteem.
