Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work within supportive schools in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. You will help students with a range of needs, delivering targeted activities and supporting teachers to create an inclusive classroom.

The role offers flexibility in assignments and access to SEN-focused training. This is a temporary position with potential for long-term roles; safeguarding checks and DBS will be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting SEN learners.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in and out of the classroom.
• Deliver targeted interventions and learning activities.
• Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Support students with emotional regulation and social development.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Encourage participation, confidence and independence.
