A warm and highly inclusive primary school in Hammersmith is seeking a compassionate, resilient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated inclusion team ASAP. In this specialized role, you will work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a crucial role in enabling children to access the curriculum safely, build independence, and thrive emotionally and academically.
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group learning support to pupils with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Implement personalized learning and sensory strategies recommended by the SENCo, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists.
Assist in adapting classroom resources, visual timetables, and learning tasks to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour management, and social integration during structured lessons, unstructured playtimes, and transitions.
Track individual pupil progress, keep detailed observational records, and contribute to termly EHCP review meetings and parent updates.
Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Special Educational Needs, or a related Degree (e.g., Psychology, Education).
Direct experience supporting children with SEN/SEND within a primary school, special school, or specialized care setting.
Familiarity with SEN strategies such as PECS, Makaton, sensory regulation techniques, or positive handling approaches.
Strong empathy, patience, adaptability, and high standards of literacy and numeracy (GCSE C/4 or above in English and Mathematics).
Legal right to work in the UK.
