Job summary

TLTP Education is recruiting a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an ASD provision in Redbridge, supporting an EYFS-aged child on a 1:1 basis. The child is non-verbal and requires consistent, tailored support with communication, learning and daily routines.

Personal care will be involved, so we are looking for someone who is patient, nurturing and confident supporting children with additional needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with ASD, ideally in EYFS or specialist provision.
• Experience using PECS and Makaton to support non-verbal communication.
• Confident providing personal care in a sensitive and respectful manner.
• Ability to build trusting relationships and provide 1:1 support.
• Calm, patient approach and ability to adapt activities to individual needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children develop communication, independence and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for an EYFS-aged child with ASD within a Redbridge ASD provision.
• Assist with communication, learning activities and daily routines.
• Support personal care where required and promote safeguarding.
• Build trusting relationships and adapt activities to the child’s needs.
