Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support children with special needs in primary settings across Louth on a supply basis. You will work one-to-one or in small groups to help students engage, learn, and thrive within a supportive classroom environment.

Role involves assisting with learning plans, supporting communication and social skills, and adapting strategies to meet individual needs. DBS checks and flexibility are essential for this ad-hoc role.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEN is ideal but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply for one is required.
• Flexibility to work on an ad-hoc supply basis.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group support for children with special educational needs (SEN)
• Assisting the class teacher with implementing personalized learning plans
• Helping students with communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
• Supporting students with physical tasks, mobility, or sensory needs as required
• Managing classroom behavior and creating a positive and supportive environment
• Encouraging and motivating students to participate fully in lessons and school activities
• Communicating with parents and staff to monitor progress and adapt strategies when necessary
