Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Kirklees and Calderdale in primary settings.

You will provide 1:1 and small group assistance to learners with SEN, collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to deliver tailored activities and interventions.

Offers include competitive pay (£90-£115 per day), flexible hours, and access to long-term and permanent roles across diverse schools.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Educational qualifications in SEN/Childcare (advantageous) are beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Supporting the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions.
• Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and social development.
• Assisting with behavioural and emotional support where required.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
