Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to work across Kirklees and Calderdale. The role supports children with SEN in primary settings, delivering tailored assistance to help them access learning and participate in lessons.

Ideal candidates have a patient, resilient approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to inclusive education. Flexible hours and ongoing CPD are available through our education consultancy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• A patient, resilient and caring nature is important.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
• Supporting the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions.
• Encouraging pupil engagement, independence, and social development.
• Assisting with behavioural and emotional support where required.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Supporting the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
