Job summary

Prospero Teaching are seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join our client schools across Kirklees and Calderdale. You will plan and deliver tailored lessons for pupils with SEN, collaborating with support staff, SENCOs, therapists and families.

QTS or equivalent required; experience with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN, and MLD/SLD is beneficial. Opportunities include flexible full-time, part-time, temporary and permanent roles with competitive daily rates.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Patience and empathy to support pupils with SEN.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Develop and implement strategies to support pupil engagement and progress.
• Monitor, assess, and report on pupil achievement and development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, SENCOs, and parents.
• Support the implementation and review of EHCPs.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
