Job summary

The Supply Register, in partnership with Northway School in Barnet, is seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping with learning, communication, behaviour and independence.

You'll work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs, contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment, and participate in personalised learning programmes.

Qualifications

• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children with additional needs – essential.
• Have experience working with pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or complex learning needs.
• Are patient, compassionate and confident supporting pupils with a range of individual needs.
• Are proactive, resilient and committed to creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support pupils with their learning, communication, behaviour and independence.
• Work closely with teachers and other professionals to meet individual pupil needs.
• Assist with classroom activities and personalised learning programmes.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop their confidence and independence.
• Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil can achieve.
