Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant in Northampton to support pupils with diverse SEND needs on a flexible, day-to-day basis.

You will work closely with class teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment and ensure all students can access the curriculum at their own pace. Role requires experience with SEND and childcare settings, with a DBS update service or willingness to apply for a new check.

Qualifications

SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Northampton

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible Supply

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with diverse SEND needs (including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties).
• Assisting class teachers in creating an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment.
• Helping students engage with the curriculum and access learning at their own pace.
• Supporting individual behavior plans and promoting positive behavior management.

Requirements:

• SEND Experience: Proven experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
• Childcare Experience: Prior experience working with children in an educational, care, or youth work setting.
• DBS: Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new DBS check.
• Flexibility: An adaptable, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people of primary and secondary age.
