Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking empathetic Level 2/3 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional learning needs in Chorley primary schools. Roles range from immediate short-term cover to January-long contracts, with flexible daily or block bookings and no planning required.

Ideal candidates have Level 2/3 TA qualifications or substantial SEN experience, patient and calm, with a DBS up-to-date or willingness to process one through Randstad. Competitive weekly pay and CPD are provided.

Qualifications

• Empathy and patience when supporting pupils with SEN.
• Ability to adapt tasks for diverse learning needs.
• Strong communication with pupils, parents and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs.
• Adapt tasks and activities to make the curriculum accessible and engaging.
• Assist with IEPs and EHCPs as required.
• Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to support emotional regulation.
• Build trusting relationships and work closely with teachers, SENCOs and parents.
• Support during transitions, breaks and structured activities to maintain a safe learning space.
• Prepare and implement tasks suitable for primary-age pupils.
