Job summary

Randstad Education in Burnley is seeking an empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary pupils with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other needs. Flexible short-term 1:1/small-group work or longer-term term-time contracts start in November across Burnley and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or substantial direct SEN experience).
Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with additional needs.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process one).

Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 or small-group assistance to pupils with diverse needs.
Adapt classroom tasks and activities to make the curriculum accessible.
Support the implementation of IEPs and EHCPs.
Utilise positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to support emotional regulation.
Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, visiting specialists, and parents.
Assist during transitions, playground breaks, and structured activities to ensure inclusive learning spaces.
