Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or substantial direct experience caring for pupils with SEN).
• Strong empathy, patience, and resilience in diverse classroom settings.
• Ability to adapt tasks for learners with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN.
• Adapt tasks and activities to make the curriculum accessible.
• Support implementation of IEPs and EHCPs.
• Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, visiting specialists, and parents.
• Assist during transitions, playground time, and structured activities to ensure a safe space.
