Job summary

Aspire People in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children aged 2 to 21 with complex needs, including Autism and SEMH, in a specialist setting in Moseley. You will provide individualised support, work with staff, and help implement behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.

The role offers full-time or part-time hours, long-term/permanent or temporary contracts, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience with SEMH/autism/behavioural needs in a SEND setting.
• Must hold an in-date Team Teach/MAPA/CPI certificate.
• Calm, empathetic and patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Proactive and flexible mindset with a genuine desire to support vulnerable learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to pupils with ASD, MLD and complex needs in the classroom.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
• Support development of social skills, confidence and independence in young learners.
• Provide personal care and support for students with learning/physical disabilities.
