Job summary

Engage Education Ltd is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Halifax. You will provide 1:1 support to a child with SEN, helping access the curriculum and develop confidence.

With a patient, compassionate approach you will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support plans and monitor progress, creating an inclusive environment where the pupil can thrive.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential.
• Previous experience with SEN, ideally 1:1.
• Patient, calm and compassionate approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with children.
• Good understanding of supporting children with additional needs.
• Adaptable and confident in responding to individual needs and behaviours.
• Ability to work with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.
• Genuine passion for helping children reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a child with additional needs throughout the school day.
• Support the child to access the curriculum through personalised and differentiated activities.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the child and provide consistent support.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individual support plans and strategies.
• Support the child's social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
• Help the child develop communication, social and learning skills.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and wider support team.
• Create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment where the child can thrive.
