Job summary

Oasis Academy Mayfield in Southampton is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. You will support planning, preparation and delivery of lessons, prepare learning resources and provide pastoral support. You will contribute to evaluating student progress and feedback to ensure needs are met.

The post requires at least 3 GCSEs (incl English & Maths); Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable. The role offers term-time working, a defined pension and support benefits.

Qualifications

• 3 GCSEs (C grade or above) including English and Maths
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
• Experience supervising class and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive outcomes
• Good written and verbal communication with teaching staff
• Empathetic approach; ability to build relationships with children and adults
• High expectations of behaviour; ability to challenge without confrontation

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of lessons both whole-class and individual
