Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs at a partner school in Ashington, England. You will join a dedicated team to help create a positive learning environment tailored to each pupil’s needs.

The role involves supporting children with Autism, SLD, and PMLD, in 1:1, small groups, and personal care where required. Applicants should be eligible to work in the UK and be prepared to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEN is desirable but not essential.
• Able to build positive relationships and act as a role model.
• Right to work in the UK and Enhanced DBS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support learning activities in and out of the classroom.
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence.
• Assist with communication and sensory-based activities.
• Follow EHCPs and individual support plans.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour strategies.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
