Job summary

Aspire People, on behalf of a specialist SEN provision in Oldham, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with PMLD and complex needs. You will collaborate with teachers, therapists and healthcare professionals to enable access to learning in a safe, supportive environment.

The role is full-time and long-term, requiring compassion, patience and resilience. Experience in SEN settings is advantageous; safeguarding checks apply and ongoing training is available through

Qualifications

• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.
• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Fluent English required.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding checks.
• Genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs throughout the school day
• Assist with personal care while maintaining dignity and promoting independence
• Support pupils with feeding programmes, including PEG feeding where appropriate
• Assist with moving and handling procedures using specialist equipment
• Support pupils who require hoisting and positioning assistance
• Work alongside therapists to deliver sensory and communication-based activities
• Monitor pupil wellbeing and report any concerns appropriately
• Encourage engagement, participation and interaction at each pupil's individual level
• Support pupils with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical needs
• Contribute to a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
