Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs in Ashington, Northumberland. The role involves assisting pupils with autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH, helping them access learning and engage with lessons across KS3 and KS4.

The position is long-term with potential for permanent opportunities; a patient, resilient approach and strong communication are essential. Salary ranges from £95 to £110 per day, paid PAYE.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
• Experience working with autism / ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH needs.
• Experience supporting students across KS3 and KS4 is desirable.
• A patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A positive and adaptable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Help students access learning and manage their individual needs.
• Support students with a range of needs including autism/ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
• Assist with behaviour management and classroom routines.
• Contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
