Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking two dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a Specialist SEN School in Grimsby. The roles involve supporting pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities in whole-class settings alongside the class teacher, with Monday to Friday daytime hours from 8:15am to 1:00pm.

The ideal candidate is patient, calm, and empathetic, with a strong communicator and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Patient, calm, caring and empathetic demeanor.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
• Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and high-quality support.
• Experience with children or young people with SEN is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities within a whole-class environment.
• Work with the class teacher and support staff to deliver engaging activities.
• Encourage pupil participation and independence.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Promote positive behaviour and a calm, structured classroom environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and provide additional support as needed.
