Tradewind Recruitment is seeking two dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a Specialist SEN School in Grimsby. The roles involve supporting pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities in whole-class settings alongside the class teacher, with Monday to Friday daytime hours from 8:15am to 1:00pm.

The ideal candidate is patient, calm, and empathetic, with a strong communicator and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities within a whole-class environment.

  • Encourage pupil participation and independence.
  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a calm, structured classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and provide additional support as needed.

2 x Teaching Assistant Positions Available

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:15am-1:00pm

We are currently seeking two dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive Specialist SEN School in Grimsby.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism and Learning Disabilities, helping them to feel safe, valued, confident, and successful within the classroom.

You will work as part of a highly experienced and supportive team, working within whole-class settings alongside the class teacher and other highly qualified and experienced Teaching Assistants.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with Autism and Learning Disabilities within a whole-class environment
  • Work closely with the class teacher and experienced support staff to deliver engaging learning activities
  • Encourage pupils to participate in learning and develop greater independence
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Promote positive behaviour and help create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Provide additional support where required, including personal care
  • Follow individual support plans and school policies to ensure pupils receive the appropriate level of care and support
