Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Derby school on a full-time, long-term basis, supporting pupils with ASD and ADHD. You will provide 1:1 and small-group assistance, helping students access education and build confidence.

Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals, you will implement strategies to support emotional regulation, focus, and engagement, while fostering social skills and independence.

SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD & ADHD Specialist) Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity | DE24, Derby

Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Autism (ASD) and ADHD?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the DE24 area of Derby. This is a full-time role supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to access education, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

About the Role
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD and ADHD.

We're Looking For Someone Who:
  • Has previous experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs.
  • Understands the importance of routine, consistency, and positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Is patient, resilient, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils who may find school challenging.
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience in education, care, youth work, or support services.
