Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students in a busy mainstream secondary school in Watford, Hertfordshire. You will provide one-to-one and small group assistance, helping pupils with mild SEN to reach their potential.

The role offers regular work, ongoing professional development, and a supportive local consultant. Experience with students or young people with additional needs, a calm and patient approach, and a willingness to obtain a DBS are valued.

Teaching Assistant - Watford, Hertfordshire

Are you an empathetic and motivated Teaching Assistant looking to support students in a busy Mainstream Secondary school supporting pupils with mild SEN needs? Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for dedicated individuals to work in a modern and well run Secondary school in Watford, Hertfordshire. This is an ongoing role starting asap and into next academic year and is expected to become permanent for Easter 2027. We are looking for people with previous experience of working with students. If you are calm, nurturing and able to provide a safe space for these students, we would love to hear from you.

About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant with Tradewind, you'll play a key role in helping young people reach their full potential. You'll provide one-to-one and small group support, implement behaviour strategies, and create a safe, positive learning environment where every child feels valued.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with ASD or behavioural needs in class and during activities.
• Implement tailored learning and behaviour plans.
• Promote emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver inclusive education.

• A valid DBS or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind.
