Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is sourcing a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a Year 1 pupil at a Burton on Trent school. This role focuses on supporting learning, emotional regulation and social development for a pupil with SEND.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable), have experience in SEND or inclusion, and be DBS checked or willing to apply. Mon-Fri availability required.

Qualifications

• Holds at least a Level 1 TA qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable).
• Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting.
• Patient, empathetic, and committed to pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
• Available Monday to Friday (part-time roles still require weekday availability).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil in Year 1.
• Be confident to support SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Dysregulation.
• Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development.
• Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

Tradewind Recruitment are supporting one of their partnership Special Educational Needs Schools based in the Burton on Trent, with a SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for children with SEN.

This is a wonderful, dedicated SEN School which is part of a successful trust but holds a community feel within the local area. The school has a wonderful reputation in the area with parents and is a school regularly requested by supply staff to return to.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil in Year 1
• Be confident to support SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Dysregulation
• Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development
• Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Hours:

• Monday to Thursday - 08:15 to 16:30
• Friday - 08:15 to 15:00

The Ideal Candidate:
