Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Wirral is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism and ADHD in a secondary school setting. You will work with the SENCO and teachers to deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group support, helping students engage in lessons and progress.

The role requires a calm, patient approach, strong communication, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents. DBS clearance or willingness to apply is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting students with Autism and/or ADHD (essential).
• Calm, patient and empathetic approach.
• Good communication and ability to build positive relationships.
• Experience in a secondary school setting preferred but not essential.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD.
• Assisting teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
• Supporting students with emotional regulation, focus and participation.
• Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and learning.
• Liaising with teachers, parents and the SEN team to monitor progress.

About the Role:

This part-time Teaching Assistant position is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with additional needs. You will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with Autism and ADHD, helping them to engage positively in lessons and make good progress.
