Job Description

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD)

Start: ASAP

Location: Islington, North London

Contract: Full time

School Type: Secondary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD) to support a KS3 child with moderate ADHD. His academic ability is progressing; however, he needs help with concentration and interaction with peers. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD), you will demonstrate your SEN supporting skills as well as liaising with other academic professionals and healthcare leads.

SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD) | The ideal candidate:

  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD) | Requirements:

  • Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • Experience with SEND: A solid understanding of and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • DBS on the update service: A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
  • Passion for education: A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
