Job Description

Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD)

Start: ASAP

Location: Islington, North London

Contract: Full time

Rate: 90-115 per day

School Type: Secondary

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD) to support a KS3 child with moderate ADHD. The student’s academic ability is progressing; however, he needs assistance with concentration and peer interaction. As an SEN Teaching Assistant (ADHD), you will demonstrate your SEN support skills and liaise with other educational professionals and healthcare leads.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in educational or special education settings.
  • Knows behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Can establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Has excellent problem-solving skills and remains calm in challenging situations.
  • Is flexible and adaptable to meet the changing needs of students and the educational environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
  • Understanding and experience working with students with SEND.
  • A valid DBS check on the update service to ensure student safety.
  • A genuine passion for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
