Job summary

Protocol Education are seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming primary school in Barking on a full-time basis. You will support children with special educational needs, helping them access activities and develop independence within the classroom.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, close collaboration with teachers and the SEN team, and duties focused on behaviour, communication and emotional regulation to help pupils reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs within a school or educational setting.
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Someone confident providing 1:1 and small-group support.
• A genuine passion for helping children reach their potential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and/or small-group basis.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support pupils' learning and development.
• Help pupils access classroom activities and build their confidence and independence.
• Support with behaviour, communication and emotional regulation where required.
