Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is partnering with a welcoming school in Stafford to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant. The role involves providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN to help them access the curriculum and develop confidence.

We are seeking a patient, resilient and empathetic individual who can build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and families. A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience is desirable; this is a full-time term-time role.

Qualifications

Experience with SEN/SEND or autism preferred.
Patient, calm, compassionate and resilient.
Ability to build strong relationships with pupils.
Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
Support children with SEND, autism, communication difficulties, behavioural needs and additional learning needs.
Build positive relationships to encourage confidence, independence and engagement.
Support pupils inside and outside the classroom to access the curriculum.
Assist teachers with delivering engaging lessons and adapting activities.
Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop social and learning skills.
Work with teachers, SEND staff, therapists and parents to support education plans.
Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Encourage pupils to become more independent.
