Job summary

Holy Brook School, Reading, is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a caring and energetic team. This term-time role supports pupils with SEN/SEMH needs in a welcoming school community, working 5 days per week with INSET days.

You will collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored support and help pupils engage positively with learning. Experience with children and a genuine interest in SEN, autism, or SEMH is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children in an education setting is preferred.
• Genuine desire to work with children with SEN, autism or SEMH.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach to support learning and wellbeing.
• Good basic skills in English and Maths are required.
• A resilient attitude and sense of humor are valued.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN and SEMH on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with learning activities and resource preparation.
• Help maintain a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage emotional regulation, communication, and social independence.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with our pupils.
