Job summary

The Holy Brook School in Reading is seeking a Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive, caring team. You will work under the guidance of teachers to deliver tailored support for pupils aged 5-11 with SEMH needs, autism, or ASD.

The role is full time, term-time only plus INSET days, and focuses on promoting emotional regulation, confidence, and positive engagement in learning. We value patience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach as you help create a calm, inclusive classroom

Qualifications

• Experience in supporting children with SEN/SEMH in educational settings.
• Knowledge of autism/ASD and SEMH.
• Strong literacy and numeracy basics.
• Patience, adaptability and resilience in a classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN/SEMH on 1:1 and small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with learning activities and resources.
• Maintain a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage emotional regulation, communication, and social independence.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
