Job summary

Rikama Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs (SEN) school in Greenwich. You will support small groups and 1-to-1 sessions, delivering a differentiated curriculum tailored to the individual needs of students, including those with ASD, ADHD, Behavioural needs, and related conditions.

You will work alongside a supportive team to foster academic success while also helping students develop critical personal, social, and health education

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in SEN or educational settings.
• Passion for supporting young people with ASD.
• Strong communication with students and colleagues.
• Patient, empathetic, resilient attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support students in small groups and 1-to-1.
• Handle students with SEMH difficulties or challenging behaviour.
• Use calming and positive behaviour techniques.
• Build trust and rapport with students.
• Background in education settings, youth clubs, residential care, social work.
• Help students develop life skills and PSHE.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and professionals to achieve outcomes.
• Maintain records of student progress and contribute to learning plan reviews.
