Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Andover, Hampshire, supporting children with a range of additional needs.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, work closely with teachers, and help pupils engage positively in their education within a structured, nurturing environment. Enhanced DBS is required prior to starting; experience with SEN, SEMH, ASD or ADHD is valued and full training may be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people in educational settings.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs.
• Patient, calm and resilient approach; ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support children with SEN, SEMH, ASD and ADHD.
• Assist teachers with delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
• Help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.
• Support positive behaviour and implement individual strategies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Encourage independence, confidence and resilience.
• Help maintain a calm, safe learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and other education professionals.
