Job summary

Five Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a special school in Chard, England. You will support identified pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN) and/or mental health challenges, on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The role requires resilience, compassionate communication and the ability to work closely with teachers to meet EHCP targets. Training opportunities, DBS support, and a friend referral scheme are offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with SEND such as Autism.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• Right to work in the UK and DBS checks required.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Supporting pupils with learning, communication and emotional regulation.
• Working closely with teachers and SENCOs to support EHCP targets and learning plans.
• Creating a structured, safe and engaging learning environment.
