Job summary

Long Term Futures Ltd is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. You will be based in a Year 4 class, providing whole-class support and additional SEN support for individual pupils.

The role includes supporting a pupil with SEMH needs and assisting with personal care alongside another staff member. This long-term to permanent role offers continuity and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Previous Teaching Assistant experience within a primary school.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH.
  • Comfortable supporting with personal care alongside another member of staff.
  • Confident providing whole-class, small group and 1:1 support.
  • Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide whole-class support within a Year 4 classroom.
  • Support a pupil with SEMH and emotional regulation needs.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support where required.
  • Assist another member of staff with a pupil's personal care.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support learning activities.
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 4

Location: Northfield, Birmingham, B31

Weekly Pay: £500 - £525

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long-Term to PermanentLong Term Futures are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Northfield. You will be based within a Year 4 class, providing whole-class support alongside additional SEN support for individual pupils.

The role will include supporting a pupil with SEMH needs, as well as assisting another member of staff with the personal care needs of a child in the class.

The Role
  • Provide whole-class support within a Year 4 classroom
  • Support a pupil with SEMH and emotional regulation needs

The Ideal Candidate
