Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Ketley from September 2026. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2, working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support for children with SEN.

The school is committed to delivering an inclusive education where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary or specialist setting.
  • Experience working with pupils across KS1 and KS2.
  • Understanding of Autism (ASD) and ADHD; good behaviour management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils across KS1 and KS2.
  • Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes.
  • Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet pupil needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and independence.
  • Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals.
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Ketley, Telford, TF1 Contract: Long-term Day Rate: £108 - £120 Start Date: September 2026 Commutable From: Wellington, Telford, Oakengates, Dawley, Shifnal

The Opportunity: Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Ketley from September 2026. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working closely with class teachers and SLT to provide tailored support for children with a range of additional needs.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils across KS1 and KS2
  • Support children with a range of SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties
  • Deliver targeted interventions linked to EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
  • Assist teachers in adapting lessons to meet individual pupil needs
  • Promote positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
  • Support pupils' emotional wellbeing and social development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, parents, and external professionals
  • Help create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a primary or specialist setting
  • Experience working with pupils across KS1 and/or KS2
  • Good understanding of Autism (ASD), ADHD, and additional learning needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
